St. Paul's Episcopal Church
Millers Tavern, VA
Welcome to St. Paul’s!
Outdoor Holy Eucharist, Rite II at 10:00 am
We are excited to offer a service of Holy Eucharist, Rite II, at 10 am this Sunday, October 4. Bring your own face mask and your own Book of Common Prayer. If you took a Book of Common Prayer home recently, please remember to bring it again as it is yours to keep. We will worship in the lawn next to the parish hall facing the church. Chairs will be set up before you arrive. Our ushers will direct you to extra chairs if you need them for your family unit. Please make your way from your car straight to your chair. Stay in your chair for the duration of the worship service. If you would like to receive communion, please follow the priest’s and ushers’ directions to approach the altar, including stopping at a hand sanitizing station immediately before receiving communion. When the worship service is over, please refrain from extended socializing, leave your chairs where they are, and return directly to your car.
-Maintain six feet distance from non-household members at all times
-Wear face covering at all times (with exception for consumption of the bread at communion)
-We are unable to safely sing at this time
-The Peace will be shared with a bow, wave, or peace sign and will not include handshakes, hugs, or other physical touch
-Communion will be distributed in one kind only - the bread
-Limit the use of restrooms to emergencies
-Leave set-up/take-down of chairs to ushers only
All who are comfortable attending worship outside are welcome. Please remember, reception of communion is not a requirement for participation in worship. If you are in an especially vulnerable population or are still not comfortable attending public worship, we understand and want to help keep you safe. We will continue to offer virtual worship opportunities for those who cannot yet join us in person.
These worship guidelines are carefully crafted in order to comply with the requirements of the Diocese of Virginia and our local, state, and national health officials. Our ability to offer outdoor, in-person worship is dependent upon cooperation from all of us to adhere to the guidelines described above. We appreciate your willingness to follow the guidelines.
If you are not comfortable in public yet, we invite you to continue to join us for worship virtually.
